Black Rock Dam

Owner : Laguna Construction

This 24-m-high embankment dam is officially recognized as an historic monument.

Using a fusegate spillway for low-flood performance and a free-sill auxiliary spillway for extreme flood management has increased the discharge capacity by 1080%, while keeping the environmental impact of the upgrade to a minimum.

This project was awarded the title of "2002 National Rehabilitation Project of the Year” by the U.S. Association of State Dam Safety Officials.
