Suma Park Dam

Owner: Orange City Council

Suma Park Dam impounds the water of Summer Hill Creek to form Suma Park Reservoir, the primary source of water for Orange.

The application of the Fusegate System at Suma Park dam allows the safe discharge of the 1:1,000,000 AEP flood below the desired maximum flood level of RL 847.60 m. This is achieved by installing five 2.3m high straight crested Fusegates on a 30m long elevated sill and five 5.45m high straight crested Fusegates on a lower 30m long spillway section on the new auxiliary spillway.
